living in a dreamworld

I want to see the world!

I love all these photos!

this is gonna be the best summer ever…

19 Apr

…because I said so!

Well it will be hard to beat summer ’08 when I went on a J1 to San Fran… but I have high hopes for this year!

Why you ask!?! Well…

  • New Apartyment with the lovely girlies from 4fm… city centre – Dublin city is our back garden. Boom!

  • Summer holiday with the girls from school… to Greece possibly! I’ve never actually been on a proper girly sun holiday… and never got to go away last year because I was snowed under with work (no holiday time on internships!) so cannot wait for a week of sun and cocktails :)

  • Possibly New York for a week or two in July…

  • Sex & the City 2!

  • And just general summer-ness: sun, nights out, weekends away, beer gardens, BBQs…

I’m just hoping my overly enthusiastic attitude for summer will make the sun shine!!!

…Trinity Ball was this weekend… Ohhh it was a good’un!

Really starting to feel like summer now – actually hot (shocking!), colleges wrapping up and serious ball time happening… I’m just pretending I’m still a student!

I’m a little bit obsessed with blonde hair lately… Is it the fact it’s *sunny?

*And by sunny I do mean mildly sun in Ireland but of course it is ice cold.

My hair is naturally medium brown (I think! Tho’ who knows at this stage!) so I don’t think I can rock the snow blonde look…

Every year without fail I decide I simply must go blonde. And every year I come to the conclusion I look better dark… yet the cycle continues.

Oh summer… *swoon*

i’m in wonderland

19 Feb

I have been crazy busy with work the last few weeks – hence the lack of posts!

We had our Shave or Dye event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in work on Thursday and raised over €360,000!

Matt Cooper dyed his hair a dashing shade of pink and Tony Fenton went green! We also made it into the Guinness Book of Records for most heads shaved in an hour!

Ray D’Arcy also got in on the action by getting his locks chopped off too!

It was a great morning, though I was wrecked by the end of it and took a sneaky nap before I was back in work for 4:30pm!

Next week looks like it will be the same… working 6am – 7pm on Monday… and 9am-7pm for the rest of the week (including 10-5 on Sat and 930-130 on Sunday so no day off!) All good… except for the fact that I am obsessed with sleep. I need at least 8 hours to function… ideally 10 hours.

Oh dear.

Looks like I may have to forego showering for the week to catch some extra Zzz’s.

what i wore… 5am… *shudder*

25 Jan
Top from A-Wear, wore with black tights and orange All Saints cardie

Working the brekkie shift in Today FM this week… which explains why it’s lunchtime and I’m in bed.

I love clothes and I enjoy nothing more than putting an outfit together. But 5am?! I.Can’t.Even.See.Straight.

Honestly my vision is fuzzy for the first ten minutes when I wake up and my teeth hurt.

Safe to say I am not a big fan of early mornings but I love working (explains why I am in a ridiculously good mood of a Monday) so I just have to roll with it. I get used to the super early starts after a day or so and it’s nice to finish work and still have the day free! When the show ends at 9am all I want to eat is lunch or dinner(!) not breakfast food – believe me it’s hard to find a place that serves veggie sushi or baked potatoes before 12pm!

So my alarm goes off at 5am… I have an idea what I want to wear (or I have it planned from the night before if I’m organised!) but I’m cold! I don’t want to wear tights! I don’t want to wear a t-shirt or cute dress! I want a hoodie and fluffy boots! Now, bear in mind I am not a hoodie fan – except if I am staying in watching TV… but early mornings make me forget all my lovely clothes. Mainly because it’s dark and I’m cold.

But hey it’s nearly* summer so soon dark and cold mornings won’t be an issue… oh wait… It’s Ireland.

*by nearly I mean absolutely ages away… but I try to convince myself that summer is just around the corner.

Fear Sneachta! (Snow!)

10 Jan

So much snow!

Woke up today to a blanket of snow. Found myself singing Christmas songs and eating chocolate for breakfast. Those things should never be done after January 1st. Damn you snow.

Was going to build a Snowcat (no Snowman for me thank you very much!)… but I forgot how cold the snow was. I suppose the fact it’s frozen rain should be a clue. Fingerless gloves are useless! FAIL! So just brought CoCo for a walk instead … and I didn’t fall! Makes a change from my falling-on-my-ass routine in Dublin.

Now I’ve had my snowy fun – so you can go away now snow! I need to get back to Dublin!

More snow…

9 Jan

(Via The Telegraph)

Woke up this morning feelin’ like P.Diddy…

Eh… no, not really. Looked out the window to see the street covered in snow (noooooo!), felt a bit panic-y for a moment “Will I be stuck in Dublin, roomie-less, with no food for a week?!” I had images of myself dying of hunger and boredom in my little apartment.

I decided to get the train down to Waterford to avoid any sort of starvation. The ol’ parents insist I eat which has its benefits at times. My jelly bean diet in work probably wouldn’t go down too well at home.

Speaking of food – ditch any form of post-New Years dieting! All I want when I’m cold having walked MILES in the snow is a massive, HUGE pizza – no salad or Ryvita thank you very much! As Tom Doorley said in yesterday’s Irish Daily Mail – stodge is best in the cold snap! Hear, hear!

So the train journey home took the usual two and a half hours… but there was NO heat on the train. Cue ice-induced headache and frozen sandwich.

Snow, snow GO AWAY!
