Topshop have Mary Katrantzou designing a 14 piece collection for them!

Think back to the hysteria surronding the one that Christopher Kane did a few years ago and you probably have a rough idea of how Katrantzou’s collection will go down.

It’s great news for fans of Katrantzou’s aesthetics who don’t have the moolah to obtain one of her uber expensive designs. Ahem – I am looking at the 18 clients who spent about £8,800 each to snag one of Katrantzou’s Jewel Tree dresses… inspired by Faberge eggs! Should have gone to ~~Specsavers~~ Topshop.

Oh did I mention – Nails?!

For a limited time only in Topshop’s Oxford Circus store, Katrantzou’s designs will be available as seven exclusive nail designs in conjunction with WAH nail salon.

josephine de la baume

**You might recognise Josephine.**

…Or maybe like me you had one of those ‘oh, oh I know her face!’ moments but couldn’t quite place where you knew her from.

Well, Josephine is probably best known for being engaged to music producer Mark Ronson but she is also the face of Mango and May’s cover Girl for ASOS magazine!

Josephine is most famous in France for her acting and her most recent film, The Princess of Montpensier, was selected for last year’s Cannes Film Festival. Not content with just modelling and acting the future Mrs Ronson is also in a band SingTank with her bro. I’m already exhausted thinking about how hectic her schedule must be!

Reminds me of a Brigitte Bardot meets Daisy Lowe character!

I love these photos.

One of my favourite things is the mixture of black & white photography with illustration and pops of colour.

It gives them such a lovely vintage vibe. I want to try make some pics like this for my room!

I can’t seem to go a week without buying a piece (or several pieces!) of clothing. Sometimes I think I have richerexia*

So I bought this lovely yellow dress on Asos just now… damn it.

*richerexia – a condition where the sufferer believes he/she is loaded or filthy rich, when in fact they are poor. This condition generally affects freelance journalists.

curb your enthusiasm

I’ve been trying to curb my spending a bit lately (not going too well!) but a nice little package arrived at home for me with these lovely items that I ordered a few weeks ago.

I’m really loving all the nudes in stores lately!

I have to say Topshop online has some really unflattering picture. They never do the products justice. Often I’ll see something nice in the shop and then order online if they don’t have my size in store. I tried on the shorts in picture 2 but Topshop didn’t have my size… now, the shorts are really pretty.high-waisted/skirt-like in real life… but just look a little bland and flat in that picture!

ASOS on the other hand have a really good online section (in terms of picture representation) I think this is because ASOS use models whereas Topshop merely takes stills of their clothes making it hard to get a feel for the items…

… a Judith Leiber clutch.

This Ganesh clutch is $5585 from Net-A-Porter

Judith Leiber is my favourite designer of unusual clutch bags. Some describe them as ‘novelties’, a term that doesn’t seem to fit these exquisite (and expensive!) bags. To me ‘novelty’ sounds like something you spent €5 0n in Penneys… not something that is the price of a small car!

Leiber’s quirky designs are eye-catching and certainly make a statement.

And I know I mentioned this little honey bee clutch in a previous post, but it’s still my favourite…

Charlotte’s daughter, Lily, in Sex and the City had a cupcake Leiber bag for Carrie’s wedding – the one she hid Carrie’s phone in!

*swoon*

Unfortunately with their current price tags it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting one anytime soon…

tight squeeze

I love tights.

My jeans are gathering dust in my wardrobe as I rarely wear anything but tights or leggings – with my clothes of course! I don’t rock a ‘tights-only’ ensemble.

Tights can completely transform an outfit, adding a splash of colour to a black dress or making the look less ‘matchy-matchy’ by pairing floral tights with a floral dress in a different pattern.

I now find myself matching bracelets and necklaces to my tights instead of to my clothes!

The only thing I don’t like about tights is their longevity. A good pair of jeans can last years (I got my favourite Diesel pair when I was 13 – and they still fit nine years later)… Unfortunately you won’t get the same lifespan from tights.

The washing machine is not a friend of tights. Straight to hosiery heaven they go! I’ve witnessed many of my favourites come out of the wash complete with bobbles and snags. Hand washing is the only way to wash tights… but chucking them in the machine is way more convenient.

I can’t see myself stuck to the sink at the weekend washing *10000 pairs of tights… I’ll take a chance on the machine.
