I love these photos.
I am a sucker for pics with animals – I want a pet rabbit and lamb! Although my two dogs and cat are a handful enough. My puppy* CoCo was stung by a wasp on the mouth yesterday (she tried to eat it!, thinking it was a blue bottle – mank) – full on panic stations (tho’ I love to overreact!).
Fully convinced myself she was going to have an allergic reaction and die like Macaulay Culkin kid (back when he was cute) in ‘My Girl’. The fact that all the vets were closed and their phones just rang out didn’t help my panicked state. Thank God for google and its magicness – discovered bread soda made into a paste with milk helps. Hmm. Well she didn’t die so horraaaaayy.

Had a fab time – two weeks of pure sunshine, sad to be back to our non-existant summer.

I tried in vain to work the pale look and dark hair before hols (as seen in previous posts) but I looked dead and sickly.
Changed my hair (yes, again!) to an Alexa Chung/Whitney Port type colour ie ROOTS!
Couldn’t face the snip tho’ so I am sticking to long hair…

Here’s her latest Spring/Summer ’10 campaign featuring Natalia Vodianova and using the backdrop of the family’s pet dalmatian – shot in 1976 by Linda McCarthy. What an amazing touch!
And here’s some of her previous campaigns… all wonderful. I especially love the ones with the kids and all the little chicks!
I love everything about Stella’s fashion – she doesn’t use fur or leather. I just wish other designers shared her views on animals and fashion…

So much snow!
Woke up today to a blanket of snow. Found myself singing Christmas songs and eating chocolate for breakfast. Those things should never be done after January 1st. Damn you snow.
Was going to build a Snowcat (no Snowman for me thank you very much!)… but I forgot how cold the snow was. I suppose the fact it’s frozen rain should be a clue. Fingerless gloves are useless! FAIL! So just brought CoCo for a walk instead … and I didn’t fall! Makes a change from my falling-on-my-ass routine in Dublin.
Now I’ve had my snowy fun – so you can go away now snow! I need to get back to Dublin!

- What was your immediate reaction after the match opposing Ireland and France at the “Stade de France”?
- What were your major feelings?
- Do you think that the fact Ireland is a small country in the soccer world penalized you?
- What was the general feeling after the match? What was the effect?
- Do you find it was logical? Or rather over the top?
- Have you been shocked by various things, acts, ways of reaction? And if so which ones?
- Today, with the passing of time do you still feel the same concerning that event? Can you stand back and judge better or is it worse?
- Was all that media stuff concerning that event necessary? Was it and could it be justified or not?

A Japanese company has made earthquake survival kits for pets.
Yes you read that correctly.
Cat and dog owners worried about earthquakes striking canr now buy the kits which contain a padded jacket, rain hat, special boots to protect paws, and aromatherapy oil to calm down stressed pooches and kitties.

The kit doubles as a carry case for smaller pets. The earthquake packs also contain an ID capsule with the pet’s details and a bell in case the animal gets lost in rubble.

Animals can be peculiar.
I had goldfish when I was little. Not too fond memories may I add. They died.
Flip and Flip I, and Flip and Flap II (looks like it was too much effort for me to think up new names). To this day fish 
freak me out. I can just imagine dead ones floating on the water’s surface… ugh.
Goldfish like to jump out of their bowls too. My friend’s missing fish showed up on the sole of her mothers shoe… To quote Black Adder – he was an ex-fish by that stage!
I was reading the Guardian and came across some animal stories, including a goldfish that jumped from his bowl and was discovered hours later covered in fluff and dog hair. His owner not having the heart to flush him rinsed him under the tap and – lo and behold – he came back to life.
They have another story about teeny tiny twin monkeys who had to be cleaned with toothbrushes – they were that small.
