Back from Austria as of yesterday… dead now, have a full on cold item so downing tea like I do tequila shots at the weekends *shudder*

Check out the official pics and vids HERE

I managed to do one (yes only one!) ski lesson… I am a life fail!

But in my defence it was a work trip so any spare time was spent… well… there wasn’t much spare time really…! And when there was I faffed around the place drinking hot chocolate with rum (magic).

Hopefully I’ll manage to go on a proper ski hol someday and go for proper lessons… without tumbling down the mountain top. Eeep.

In the meantime while my brain slash life recovers from lack of sleep etc here are some non-snow related photos…

Happy Christmas!

29 Dec

Santa did good this year. He must read my blog as he brought a few things mentioned in some earlier posts! Cheers Santa!

I will be back to the blogging world properly after New Years Day… once I’ve recovered from eating too many Roses and drinking too much Baileys!

Hope everyone’s having a great Christmas!

In the meantime here are some of my festive photos…although I forgot to bring my charger home so *poof* no more photos for the rest of the break!

The mulled wine tasted very nice if I do say so myself – I am a culinary genius. Well if heating up some wine, chucking in some chopped orange bits and a ready-made spice bag counts as cooking…

Happy New Year!

Haven’t done an outfit post in a while… mainly because I don’t know how to set up my camera on automatic (technology is not my strong point!) and I was a bit of a hermit with the snow so haven’t been around anyone to take photies… and to be honest snow, ice and cold mornings just equal me wearing UGGs and the warmest things I can get my hands on! … On that note my luffly little earmuffs snapped in half today while I was getting ready for work!

RIP earmuffs… we had good times together.

Now this isn’t the most exciting outfit post – just the kind of thing I wear to work or into town!

As you can see I got my favourite KG boots in black after first getting the cream colour… I have them in brown too!

So this is is my *new* hair length… it’s even again since getting it done earlier this month in Style Club! WOOP!

It looks and feels so much better after getting four inches off!

all i want for christmas… is hermès

8 Dec

I have developed a new obsession with silk scarves – I blame Mad Men (another new obsession!)

I keep walking past the Hermès window in Brown Thomas, pressing my nose against the window and wailing. Well, no not quite that dramatic… more looking longingly until I am too cold to stand in the one spot anymore.

Nothing looks quite as classy as a good silk scarf.

…Not that I actually own a proper one… although I did get a beautiful blue one with birds on it from ASOS over the summer which does my grand… until Santa or Brian Cowen* generously decide to give me an Hermès one for Christmas.

*I’m more likely to befriend a talking chipmunk than this happening

So Santa/Brian here are some Hermès scarves I wouldn’t mind finding underneath the tree at Spar my Christmas tree:

The great thing about the Hermès site is that you can click to see the scarves knotted too…

I absolutely love all these scarves! If I had to… had to… pick my favourites (I can’t pick just one so here’s my top three!) they would be the last one with the panda and cheetah design (£250), the first one with the Native American/Indian vibe (£250) and the  sixth one down with the horses (also £250)…

I’m feeling very festive all of a sudden!

Could it be the fact that Christmas is only 20 days away?! Or  because of all the snow we’ve had? Or the lovely lights on around Dublin? Well yes to all of those!

I wandered around town for a little bit yesterday before I got my hair done – as my readers will know the last time I got my hair cut the hairdresser botched it up and it was completely uneven – and it was just so lovely and festive around the place!

I absolutely love Style Club. Stacey in there  showed me that the left side of my hair was in fact three inches longer than the right! So I got just under four inches chopped off yesterday to even it up *eek* ! Quite a lot when you’re trying to grow your hair as long as it will grow! I blame disney – particularly the little Mermaid for my love of long hair!

Luckily it still looks the same length – bahahhaaha, Kellebelle: 1, Hair: 0 – it’s just cut properly now! Also got my roots dyed darker (I like the grungey look a la Rachel Bilson!) and a half head of blonde balayage done by Lucy – absolutely love it! If anyone is looking for good hair stylists in Dublin I’d definitely point them towards Style Club’s  Stacey for cuts and Lucy for colour!

Anyhoo! I’ve been flicking through the December issues of some magazines and love the pages dedicated to Christmas Wishlists (Stellar and Marie Claire have great ones!) so decided I’d do my own!

Santa if you’re reading this blog I have been very good this year – I even got up early today (on a Sunday!) to tidy my bedroom!

As you can see I am a fan of books and toys for Christmas! I am a child at heart! I love board games tho’ – the Game of Life and Monopoly are my absolute faves! When I was little I used to get a different boardgame every Christmas… including some dodgy boring ones like Discover Ireland!

I was in Brown Thomas the other day – oh wow – their Christmas section and Marvel Room are stunning. They have the BEST collection of books ever. I spent most of my time looking at the childrens books – I just love the illustrations! They had an ah.may.zing Alive in Wonderland book collection – I want it!

Now to win the lotto…

So much snow!

Woke up today to a blanket of snow. Found myself singing Christmas songs and eating chocolate for breakfast. Those things should never be done after January 1st. Damn you snow.

Was going to build a Snowcat (no Snowman for me thank you very much!)… but I forgot how cold the snow was. I suppose the fact it’s frozen rain should be a clue. Fingerless gloves are useless! FAIL! So just brought CoCo for a walk instead … and I didn’t fall! Makes a change from my falling-on-my-ass routine in Dublin.

Now I’ve had my snowy fun – so you can go away now snow! I need to get back to Dublin!

More snow…

Woke up this morning feelin’ like P.Diddy…

Eh… no, not really. Looked out the window to see the street covered in snow (noooooo!), felt a bit panic-y for a moment “Will I be stuck in Dublin, roomie-less, with no food for a week?!” I had images of myself dying of hunger and boredom in my little apartment.

I decided to get the train down to Waterford to avoid any sort of starvation. The ol’ parents insist I eat which has its benefits at times. My jelly bean diet in work probably wouldn’t go down too well at home.

Speaking of food – ditch any form of post-New Years dieting! All I want when I’m cold having walked MILES in the snow is a massive, HUGE pizza – no salad or Ryvita thank you very much! As Tom Doorley said in yesterday’s Irish Daily Mail – stodge is best in the cold snap! Hear, hear!

So the train journey home took the usual two and a half hours… but there was NO heat on the train. Cue ice-induced headache and frozen sandwich.

Snow, snow GO AWAY!

I love this little Westie! Have to post this before I go to  bed.

I hope I don’t wake up to more snow tomorrow tho’… I don’t fancy walking to work!

The end of the world

6 Jan

What is going on with the weather lately?!

Dublin bus is out of action today due to snow. Bus drivers have refused to work until roads are gritted… so a lot of stranded people I’d imagine.

Traffic is bumper to bumper. Taxis are non-existent.

I had to walk home from work. In the cold, snow, slush, ice, crap. Tho’ luckily I live within walking distance (40 mins or so) can’t imagine how other people will manage if they live outside the city centre.

Boo.

Sure even the Coronation Street team in the UK got a snow day off work yesterday as they couldn’t film due to snow!

I can’t feel my toes

3 Jan

I am so cold!

At least my laptop is offering me some sort of warmth as it overheats on my lap – that can’t be good for it. I haven’t been in my Dublin apartment for almost two weeks… so that’s two weeks it went without any heat.. and it is FREEZING now. I’m wearing layers and layers, scarves (yes plural!), furry socks and even have a hot water bottle on my feet… and I’m still cold.

I made the trek from Waterford to Dublin today – it got more and more icy the closer we got to the capital. Snowy fields, mountains… how lovely. Well no, not really. Snow sucks. It’s crap. It turns to slush. Makes me slip. And it’s TOO cold.

Snow is nice in certain circumstances… if you’re on a ski trip, yes that’s about it really.

I think it would be so much better if it only snowed in our back gardens – that way we’d have all the snowman fun and get to look at the ‘pretty’ snow without having to skid in our cars, slip on footpaths and make general fools of ourselves as we undoubtedly fall on our asses on the way to work.

Now if someone wants to buy me some snow and deck out my garden (like the amazing dude below) then that would be ok. Snow in instances like that would be acceptable.

*swoon*
