poms not bombs

So it is officially a new year. The world didn’t end. And I am back in London after a lovely trip to Ireland for Christmas.

Here are some little bits and pieces that I have picked up in the shops recently.

The Pom tee and cross shorts are both from Urban Outfitters and the Geek jumper is from Topshop.

Urban Outfitters had an amazing 50% off sale products when I was there – which was amazing. I got the below skirt for £7 reduced from £28. I normally don’t find that many nice things in the sales so this was great an achievement for me!

Did you get anything nice in the sales this year? I looked online but didn’t see much worth buying unfortunately.

statement necklaces

I love statement necklaces.

If I am having a ‘my outfit is sh*t day’ all can be salvaged with the edition of a big chunky necklace. I also love over-accessorising and layering jewellery – the more bling the better!

If my hair is down the necklaces can get a bit swamped, so lately I have been wearing my hair pilled on my head (like a pineapple!).

I packed up the two necklaces below in the Zara sale recently.

The above necklaces were £9 in the Zara sale! I love Topshop and Zara for statement jewellery! Where have you seen big, chunky accessories that don’t break the bank? Would love to hear your recommendations!

horses and neons

A view into my wardrobe

A sneak peak into my wardrobe -pinks, prints, studs and neons.

I can’t believe it is April already. How did that happen?! Although it is hard to tell what month we have,  from sunbathing last week and going bare legged to freezing, wearing massive jackets and carrying brollies!

I am flying home to Ireland tomorrow for a little visit. Haven’t been home since Christmas so serious catch up time and seeing my (fat!) dogs! It is now Thursday night and I have yet to pack… oops!

Happy Easter!

zara trf: my new jacket

I wandered into Zara after work on Friday – wow they have some great things in at the moment!

I love their TRF range for it’s bright colours and summer vibe.

I spied a bright yellow jacket hanging up and upon seeing that there was only one XS size left proceeded to stroll around the shop trying it on in front of several mirrors. I am a bad solo shopper! Without someone to advise me that it was worth the £59.99 price tag (it was!) I felt clueless! In the end I decided to get it – partly because I was late to meet my friend for dinner and had to  drag myself out of Zara.

I took it out for its first trip yesterday for Saint Patrick’s Day – at least my friends won’t lose me in it! So bright!

i whip my hair back and forth

For the first time in my loiifee I bought hair extensions – Jessica Simpson ones.

Now I tend to be a bit skeptical when celebrities put their names to products. Speaking of which got some free Rockstar tan in work (made by a girl who used to be in fair city!!! Gas) now it is actually my new fave tan, no funky smell, and lovely colour.

Anyhoo back to the hair! Now my hair is long-ish anyways but… (and this is why I HATE getting my hair cut) it is an inch and a half longer on the left side?!!?!! State. The hairdresser cut it a few months ago uneven *rage* but I don’t want to get it evened up ‘cuz I want to keep my length (even if it is uneven!)

So in I went to Hairspray on Wicklow Street looking for some easy to put in extensions – now I had been told that Jessica Simpson ones are very good so at €59 I said I’d give them a go. You can get curly ones, straight ones – even clip in fringes! I decided to go for the straight ones – tho’ I am seriously thinking of going back and getting the curly ones now too. They are so easy to put in and the colour matched perfectly with my own hair.

After talking to some friends who wear extensions the whole time the Jessica Simpson range come up top for them when it comes to synthetic hair extensions. The colours in the range are fantastic and make it easy to match your hair. When I first went in to Hairspray one of the girls said it would be hard to match my hair as it’s highlighted, but I got a lovely shade called Glazed Strawberry. Of course as the extensions are synthetic you can’t straighten or curl them like you could with human hair extensions.

Also has anyone been into Zara recently? They have the most amazing winter collection I have seen. I wanted to buy everything in the shop. They have amazing knitwear – very Christmas jumpery! I got an amazing camel coat in there on Saturday. Typical – went in there looking for a cardigan, came out with a coat, pair on shorts, going out jacket and two shirts for work…. em… and no cardigan!

I am a little in love with the shorts – beige with braces! I love braces.  Anything a bit geeky and I’m a fan! Now the shorts themselves were size 8, but I find Zara’s clothes can be a bit big fitting – their XS are perfect tho’! I had to nip in the shorts with a belt to make them fit – but I quite like the look of the belt with the braces!
