“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana

I was in the airport on the way home to Ireland and decided to stock up on some non-fiction books. Having a bit of a break from novels right now in favour of biographies.
I just finished reading Born Survivors and it is, hands down, the most moving book I have read to date.

It is the story of three pregnant Jewish women, who all escaped death and the horrors of Auschwitz towards the end of the second world war by hiding their condition. It is hard to read at times and really horrifying to learn what these women went through. Their babies survived (unbelievably) so it is a story of triumph through adversity. Highly recommended. Go read it!

Currently reading Wild Swans, then on to The Crossing.

Anyone have any non-fiction recommendations?
